National Awards
While in college at Akron, Darlington Nagbee won the Hermann Trophy, which goes to the top Division I soccer player in the country. While in college at Mount Union, Kevin Burke became the first two-time winner of the Gagliardi Trophy, which goes to the top Division III college football student-athlete in the country (this is a three level award given only to those who excel academically, athletically, and in service).
Two Streaks Intact
At least one St. Edward alumnus has been a Division I collegiate All American in Wrestling for each of the past 25 years – a national record for a high school. At least one St. Edward alumnus has been a collegiate wrestling All American for any division in each of the past 34 seasons – also a national record for a high school.
